antenna woes

The antenna on my 89 VR will not tighten down all the way! When it starts to get snug it feels like it lets go! I think I would like to change to a 2 antenna set up ( looks mostly). I've also noticed my CB and Radio stations aren't coming in as good any more. Any suggestions?

Check out this thread. It also has some pics of my antenna change. I got a FireStick FireFly FL3. Its only 3 foot tall, but works excellent. Cost was about $25.00 total including shipping. I purchased an antenna and the mount. It fit the hole on the bike perfectly. Even the FM radio seems to work good with it. Hope this helps....
