krome rose Posted August 12, 2008 #1 Posted August 12, 2008 After finding out the police are useless, (sorry,Tim) I looked on line and figured out each place the little perp went. Got addresses and phone numbers of the businesses and called each of them. (all 6). I was polite, at first. Then I asked them there policy on I.D. check for a credit card. I was as polite as I could be as I told them about their upcoming loss on Visa. Wal-Mart Corporate is taking my suggestion further. I should be hearing from them. At least, I was made to feel like a customer with a valid problem. Don't get me started on the police depts, locally and in Asheville, Buncombe and Grantham counties. Asheville receptionist wanted to know the addresses of the crime. I said I wasn't following the thief at the time.
mini-muffin Posted August 12, 2008 #2 Posted August 12, 2008 Well at least somebody's doing something. Hope this all works out. Sorry it happened to you. I also hope they get that little bleepity bleep. Margaret
krome rose Posted August 12, 2008 Author #3 Posted August 12, 2008 That's what I get for NOT spending money. I didn't miss the card. Whatcha got for the cheaper side of hotels for the following W.E. up there?
mini-muffin Posted August 13, 2008 #4 Posted August 13, 2008 I'll check out the prices and let you know. It's gonna be either Edenton or Elizabeth City, we don't have anything except B&B's. Margaret
BOO Posted August 13, 2008 #5 Posted August 13, 2008 I am assuming the card was taken at the motel? And I wonder if you turned in the information to the Manger? I had an issue with the company that owns the Super 8 last summer and they more less told me "tough sh*t". I hope everything works out okay, we have had credit cards stolen before but the card company took care of it for us. Good Luck, Jerry

Good Luck, Jerry I too have had issues with the Super 8 in Asheville, 2 summers ago. We know for certain that our room had been searched. We did complain to the manager to which she said"I don't believe you". We checked out and went to Motel 6, with the savings in room fare for the next 4 days I had steak each night!
mini-muffin Posted August 13, 2008 #7 Posted August 13, 2008 Actually it wasn't the motel. It was at the gas station. They didn't stay at the super8. Margaret
Bob Myers Posted August 13, 2008 #8 Posted August 13, 2008 Actually it wasn't the motel. It was at the gas station. They didn't stay at the super8. Margaret Actually that was not in reference to the card, it was an attempt at a hijack concerning the SUper 8:stickpoke: But I regress, and apologize for trying that
