Seaking Posted August 12, 2008 #1 Posted August 12, 2008 Hi guys, talk about a fish out of water.. I'm hoping one of you lads or ladies are able to help me with this one.. I have to do some photography work near Manhattan (NYC) next month and just realized that hotels / motels are brutally expensive there.. wow.. However, someone clued me in that staying across the river in NJ (Hoboken for example) is a lot more affordable. However, I'm not sure where on that side of the river is safe, quiet and reasonable. I'm hoping someone is familiar with the area as to make a few recommendations.. ? What I need is a room for 3 people (2 beds) and large enough for us to work from for three days. A suite would be nice but them's expensive.. so hopefully there might be somewhere with larger rooms available at a decent price. If you know of a good place or can point me somewhere to start looking, I'd dearly appreciate it. Cheers
mini-muffin Posted August 12, 2008 #2 Posted August 12, 2008 I was wondering what anyone would want to do in Hoboken. I don't know about the hotels there. Good luck. My sister in law does photography in the NY area luckily she usually just drives for one day events. Margaret

Anyway, someone was gracious enough to set me up with a stay over studio which is awesome as you stay at the studio for the weekend while you get your work done.. sorta like studio apartments.. gotta like that! Now to see if I can find the same thing in Columbus and Detroit =) Cheers M8
berg Posted August 13, 2008 #4 Posted August 13, 2008 Try Seacaucaus and Hackensack they may be cheaper, There is a brand new W hotel in hoboken , not sure if it is opened yet. Hoboken can get pricey as well

Found a few locations at about 1/2 to 1/3 of price of near the river.. Cheers M8
