Warden Upset!! HELP!

Yammer Dan

Recommended Posts

I have heard of that.

If I'm running out in the middle of the freeway I'm a lot safer letting go of the bars than anywhere else. It's really no big deal to let go of the bars for a couple few seconds. I do it a couple of times a day at least just to let my arms down.

I will say this. ONCE you been down, every car, turn, hill or curve you approach with twice as much caution as you did before.I have heard of that.

Dan's a lot safer now than before the accident. He's watchin twice as hard cause he remembers too.

Ok I have to chime in here. On Saturday I had the pleasure of riding with Yammer Dan to the Mine all total it was a good days trip. I have never met him before and to be honest I didn't know about his past accident. Muffinman told me abouthat today. I can understand your being upset but let me tell you. Of all who were out riding he was by far the safest rider out there. He never pushed the bike or his abilities on the entire ride. If the rest of us started getting too far ahead, he stayed running at his own pace. I very much appreciated riding with him and knew that he was not going to push it no matter what everybody else did. You see this was my first time riding mountain roads so I was uneasy at times. Regardless of what impression you got from the picture I got the impression that he wouldn't do anything dangerous. He was very cautious on the ride.

I know you don't know me from Adam, but I wanted you to know that I honestly feel that Dan is a VERY SAFE RIDER.

Gerald, And everyone else on this site. I know that you guys are funnin and Dan and I read it together all the time. I need no apoligies from anyone here. I was just saying how I felt about the pic to Yammer and was not meaning to hurt anyone's feelings. I love to read this site and teasing each other is the best part of it. Dan and I have grown to love you guys. You are a great friend. Before this site he had no friends and now he does and we owe a great thanks to this site and to everybody that is here and puts up with him. Besides if it wasn't for you guys he would be home 24/7 under my feet. I get a break from everyday life just like he does when he with you guys. I think that you misunderstood me when I singled you out and I apoligize for that. I know that you were kidding and if anyone knows me then they know that I speak my mind. And I stuck my foot in my mouth when I should have just gritted my teeth. I was not mad about the pic but concerned about his safety. I do know the expression (if you fall off get back on). He stll has blood clots and he had an x-ray 2 weeks ago and was told that the bone was not healing and it might not ever heal. If he goes down again he might not ever ride again. If their not healing the first time then they won't heal the second and riding is his whole life. Take that away and he has nothing. I was just explaining to him that if you go down again there may not be any more riding for the rest of your life. You guys do the math on this one. If it were me I know what I would do. Try to ride as safe as I could for as long as I can. If you love riding so much why shorten the ride when you can ride forever. LIVE TO RIDE

Yup, but he also gets it, when he is not in trouble. It is the same for many others here. Like Freebird & lawn maint equipment, ending up in the pond, as an example.:stirthepot:

But on a more serious note.... None of us, wants to read or hear of another, being in an accident. There has been a few of us, that have been in some serious ones. :2cents:

I killed a Mule deer (missed the first one) @ 60 Mph with my 83, about a month after Yammers accident. It took about a year to get full movement with my right shoulder again.

Just wondering if there is a draught in FREE BIRDS back yard this year,

well maybe im a lil like the warden........because when i was looking at the pictures yesterday and saw dan with his hands in the air.......i have to admit my first thoughts were.......why would he do that after what hes been thru.........it just hit me wrong whne i saw it.

sorry but if im to be honest thats what i was feeling.

i do know that dale does it also on rare occassion and it makes me uncomfortable also.

so for what its worth i think i know what she was feeling, and I believe I would have reacted the same way.

but it sure was good to see dan back on a bike and obviously enjoying himself.

Dan ,

I ride with my hands off the handle bars all the time. :innocent: Man, you gotta check out the steering from time to time. Ever since I started doing this, I have only had one LITTTTLLLEEEEE problem. And that just evolved into a craniotomy this last January. So you should have nothing at all to worry about...:whistling::stirthepot:
