Mikealiasmike Posted August 10, 2008 #1 Posted August 10, 2008 Seems after riding awhile and I come to a stop, the engines ideling high (without a tach it's hard to tell but from experience) it seems to be at approx 3k. It will drop down after sitting a minute or so or when it's still cold (and yes the choke is completely in). Bikes still under warrantee so is this something I should have them fix or even worth the time being a normal thing? Thanks, Ride safe and God Bless. Mike
Freebird Posted August 10, 2008 #2 Posted August 10, 2008 No, that is not normal. Since it is under warranty, I would have them look at it. It could be that a carb sync would solve it but it could also need some cable lubrication or a number of other things.
Mikealiasmike Posted August 11, 2008 Author #3 Posted August 11, 2008 Making appt tomm. Figured they could work on it while I'm in Alaska. Won't lose riding time that way. Thanks Don. Mike
Mikealiasmike Posted August 26, 2008 Author #4 Posted August 26, 2008 Took bike in today..er... yesterday and found out I have a broken manifold gasket. Parts ordered and will be in and installed before I get back. no lost riding time hopefully . Love that 5 year warrantee. One of those Yamaha shops that does go the extra mile for the customers. VanWall in Perry, Iowa. Their FANTASTIC. Ride safe and Keep God as your passenger. Mike
