Iowa Guy Posted August 3, 2008 #1 Posted August 3, 2008 As my dad says, "Anything is easy if you know what you are doing" Well I don't and the bike won't start. Here is the symptoms. The battery is okay. The lights and dash look good when the key is turned on. Lights and dash go off as they should when I hit the starter button but nothing else happens. Bike does not turn over or even try. I've got several guesses but I've already shown my ignorance. What should I look for? Iowa Guy
Neil86 Posted August 3, 2008 #3 Posted August 3, 2008 Check kill switch is fully on. Ensure bike is in neutral.....even though it can start in gear....if the sidestand or clutch switch has failed it will prevent cranking. If it now starts but dies as soon as you go out of neutral....sidestand switch needs checking.

Iowa Guy Yep, nothing will tighten your sphincter more than being miles from home, hitting the start button and nothing happens....Been there..you almost feel relieved when you realize it was "only" the kill switch....
