jryan Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Just got some Seafoam finally to dump in my '89 VR tank. Reading the label says it helps in the oil too. Just wanted to check & see if it really does & if I should drain the oil after having it in awhile. Sounds like this stuff is the clear deal!
cimmer Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I wouldnt use it in my oil on a bike. I would be worried what it might do to the clutch as it uses motor oil and it is possible that it might affect the wet clutch. Just my opinion, take it for what it is worth. Rick F.
Stoutman Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 The way I understand it is you put that kind of stuff in right before you change the oil, then let it idle for a few minutes before you drain it to help remove varnish and sludge buildup. I save my seafoam for the gas. I prefer to change the oil and filter more frequently to keep the sludge down....
