BradT Posted August 2, 2008 #1 Posted August 2, 2008 Naugh-T just got home from our vacation, and when we started out we were not exactly sure where we would go or where we would end up. We left last Sunday, and got a late start so we changed where we had already thought would be our direction. Our plan was to get away and go for a ride so we did this, by covering 2,400 miles and 8 states. We ended up riding on the Blue ridge, Cherohala, and some great roads. Not too mention some nice highways. We had a great ride and an enjoyable time, although the days were long we did not get much relax time, other than sitting back and enjoying the ride. Attached are a few pictures and a PDF file of our route. This is not exact but gives you an idea of where we travelled. Brad and Naugh-T
IH Truck Guy Posted August 2, 2008 #2 Posted August 2, 2008 Brad, that looks like a great route.. You know the drill. Now you need a vacation to recover from the vacation....;)like thats going to happen.... Glad you guys had a great trip.....
Bummer Posted August 2, 2008 #3 Posted August 2, 2008 Very interesting route. The Blue Ridge can be a beautiful thing if you don't get stuck behind a Winnebago. Glad to see you had a safe, and uneventful, trip.
Squidley Posted August 2, 2008 #4 Posted August 2, 2008 Good to hear your home in 1 piece bud, those pics are familiar as we have been on that part of the BRPW and the other one looks like Helen GA. Hope to see you folks next Saturday for the Michigan M&E
kenw Posted August 2, 2008 #5 Posted August 2, 2008 Looks like a great trip! Really a great picture of Helen, Ga. Kenw
bongobobny Posted August 2, 2008 #6 Posted August 2, 2008 Glad you made it safe and sound! Our Ad-venture starts today. Did you check both bikes to make sure they still had licence plates???
Sling Posted August 2, 2008 #8 Posted August 2, 2008 Wow that was a great trip. Glad you had a good time. My wife Peggy and I did exactly what you did. We had no agenda and didn't have to be anywhere but where we ended up! We had no reservations anywhere. When we stopped we found a hotel!! We did the Blue Ridge parkway from start to finish, then the Skyline Drive from start to finish. We rode through Ga,NC,SC,Va, and Tn. We took 12 days in June to do it and had a wonderful time.
