Russ Posted April 25, 2007 #1 Posted April 25, 2007 Hey guys. I know that this has been brought up before and I wanted to share with ya'll what I just found. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-51I56E4bKZj/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51000&I=105CSBB2 dimensions: 11-5/8"W x 2-1/2"H x 7-7/8"D It'd fit, I think, in a saddlebag, maybe in the trunk... would definately take up a bit of room, though... It comes with a wired volume control.

clay18 Posted April 25, 2007 #4 Posted April 25, 2007 i would think one of these inline would help on cars that ive been around that the radio hits real hard and would dem the lights on the car one of these would fix the electrical needs i would think http://www.cardiscountstereos.com/Caps.asp http://www.americanhificenter.com/Amplifier-Installation/Stiffening-Caps/
GeorgeS Posted April 25, 2007 #5 Posted April 25, 2007 Well Jack, the power draw would be about the same as low beam head light. Or less then a set of driveing lights. I'm going to look into this, very interesting piece of equipment.

I'm going to look into this, very interesting piece of equipment. Maybe so George, but.... run those driving lights long enough and you'll start digging into your reserve power. Here's some good info. http://www.ozaudio.com/docs/Performance_tips_for_Oz_Audio_Amplifiers.pdf
Russ Posted April 26, 2007 Author #7 Posted April 26, 2007 Is there any reason why an amp couldn't be rigged to a power switch like the driving lights, though so there isn't a constant drain on the battery?
GeorgeS Posted April 26, 2007 #8 Posted April 26, 2007 Yes , you can do that. Also, the amp is never drawing full power except when music is hitting high volume peaks. The average power draw, is probably only about 20 percent of the full amplifer wattage rateing. Also, if you were useing an Odyessy PC-680 Dry cell, deep cycle battery, I doubt there would be a problem.
sho_greg Posted March 10, 2016 #9 Posted March 10, 2016 Did anyone ever put asubwoofer on the bike??? I ordered the one below- any thoughts??? Good idea or terrible idea? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TKGMZSK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
videoarizona Posted March 11, 2016 #10 Posted March 11, 2016 Did anyone ever put asubwoofer on the bike??? I ordered the one below- any thoughts??? Good idea or terrible idea? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TKGMZSK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 Fun idea... But with all road and wind noise I doubt I could hear it unless I was parked.I do like the bass!!
videoarizona Posted March 12, 2016 #12 Posted March 12, 2016 Wonder if your subwoofer would fit under either seat. At least you could feel the thing! I thought about adding some speakers in trhe bottom fairings, but couldn't get comfortable with the spaces there. Just no room.
sho_greg Posted June 21, 2016 #13 Posted June 21, 2016 I got the sub installed a few weeks ago- cant really hear it... but the good thing is it has a remote control for the volume so I can turn it down and up... Really have to open the trunk to hear it. But when the trunk is open it has a great sound. The unit in the link above was the one I installed- has a 2 channel amp that can power a set of speakers- so I used that on my fronts.
Freebird Posted June 21, 2016 #14 Posted June 21, 2016 I was afraid of that. Seems like sort of a waste if you only here it with the trunk open. Oh well....this has been kicked around here for years and I've still never seen a great solution for improving the sound on these bikes. We use earbuds and that works great for us.
