I say instead of revoking they're car license we should revoke their phone privelages for one year! Now theres a punishment that will really hurt them!!!:starz:

I like the way you think! :hihi:

That's a pretty brave move on your part Squidley. You wouldn't catch me running a red light into a cross-flow of traffic just to avoid a smack in the rear end! Too much of a chance of getting T-boned! :rotfl:

My plan is to position myself like Eck described so that I can easily split lanes if necessary. No need to run into an intersection unless it's going to be a big pile up. :2cents:

I had a similer story, the girl just got her car out of the shop from an accident 3 weeks eariler. She ran a stop sign and I hit her with my truck. She said that was her third accident in two months. The COP said " You got to love steel bumpers" Bent my front bumper just barely but I drove away, her car was towed, maybe even totalled. Glad I wasn't on a bike. I agree, they should have their licences revoked, but that wouldn't do any good they would just drive without a license or insurance. Been rear ended by someone without insurance too.. Not a fun deal.

glad to hear that you were in the truck, when i got rear ended with the bike i was in a 45mph speed zone, i was doing a left turn, and had oncomming traffic, which i was waiting for.the bike got air bornefor quite a distance, before she started scratching the pavement, i always say that it was the drivers backrest that helped me out that day , i got pitched out over the frount right, kinda of like in the younger days when i was into the bull riding, while flying through the air, all i could think about was *******, i have this 1/2 ton, comming that i was waiting for, and i have to hit the ground and roll, my hands came above my head, and when i had touched ground, i was doing summersaults into the ditch, i had done a few of them, then the next thing i remember was i rolled onto my feet and walked out of the ditch, over to the bike, then streight to the car and was ready to rip it apart, till i see the girl had her hands over her face bawling, i had just turned around and walked to the driver of the truck, they where white as a ghoast, i told him to pull the truck over onto the driveway, and said i needed him as a witness, then went to the truck and looked for my cell phone. okay have to leave for work now, but glad your okay, and by the way it is illegal in saskatchewan to have a ball hitch in the bumper without a trailor, you unhook from the trailor and the ball hitch has to come out, pete

Yikes! I would have been honked off like no tomorrow if that happened to me. :soapbox:

I didn't have the stinger attached to the hitch. Got tired of cracking my shins on the dang thing! :starz:

My biggest fear has always been getting rear ended on the bike. That's why I added lights on the back and keep a look out for people like that.

Beleive me, lights don't do you any good when they're just not looking. A couple of months ago I was stopped in a left turn lane waiting for traffic to go by. As soon as the last car cleared I found myself shooting across two lanes and halfway up the curb. I was hit from behind. My bike's rear end is lit up like a Christmas tree but it didn't help a bit. I was lucky that the road had cleared else things would have been a lot worse than it was.

Hey Bob,

glad you're ok and no damage to the truck. as said before, people with cell phones on their ear in a car are dangerous. Too distracting for most people. Yes, I always watch in the mirror at stops even in my truck. one of the guys at work had that happen to him last year, rearended while sitting in a line of traffic at a stoplight.

Lucky for me, it was the first time I drove my truck to work in over a month.

I got rear-ended by a young girl in a car. All it did was knock the paint off of my trailer hitch. Her car sustained some pretty good damage in the front.

All I could think of was how lucky I was to not be on the bike today.

Be careful out there.

Glad your OK borther!
