mytquin007cox.net Posted July 26, 2008 Author #5 Posted July 26, 2008 this is the case with 1992 venture also? so if remove the trunk and i should be able to find this black box ?? thank you in advance MiKE Q If so I am on my way out to look now I was hopeing it was something simple! keep fingers crossed
gunboat Posted July 26, 2008 #6 Posted July 26, 2008 yes its right under the trunk in the middle of the rack that the trunk bolts down to. has two rubber straps across the top of black to hold top bown and water tight. hops this helps. this is also a good time to check for any cracks, should not be any if the mode has been done. i not sure about a 1992 rsv, mine is a 1999 rsv best reguards don c.
gunboat Posted July 27, 2008 #7 Posted July 27, 2008 hi michael i'am so sorry that i gave you any wrong info about the location of your cb radio control box. in my haste to help i gave you the wrong info. i have a 2'nd gen and you have a 1'st gen. i amy truly sorry this sounded so much like the problem i was haveing. and it may still be the same connection by not the same location. again i'am so sorry hope it's a easy fix. best reguards don c.
Rocket Posted July 27, 2008 #8 Posted July 27, 2008 this is the case with 1992 venture also? so if remove the trunk and i should be able to find this black box ?? thank you in advance MiKE Q If so I am on my way out to look now I was hopeing it was something simple! keep fingers crossed Nope, you will not find it there, but you will find the compressor for the CLASS, below the trunk mount, under a black cover. Other work to be done there at a later time (drying out the dessicant). The CB is in the right fairing & there is a cable that connects it to the amp in the left fairing.
Hugbare Posted July 27, 2008 #9 Posted July 27, 2008 Check your post and email on the Venturers Site... Answered both there .. PS, make sure your mute button isn't activated on the passenger controller or the main handlebar controller .. More I think about this, the more I am leaning toward a stuck squelch pot. If you try to talk with someone close by, it should break the squelch .. Still, it could be the antenna, splitter or coax has given out due to age ..
mytquin007cox.net Posted November 8, 2008 Author #10 Posted November 8, 2008 (edited) i bought a NOS antenna on ebay it does not have that "bug" thing half way up antenna. what does that thing do anyway? boost signal? i am going to work out this cb issue eventually. thanks for all your help guys. mine was spinning around like other people here were complaing also (when trying to tighten) any electronic gurus live near Falls Church VA ?maybe i could ride by your house or you to miner? Edited November 8, 2008 by mytquin007@cox.net needed to add question/spelling
MiCarl Posted November 16, 2008 #11 Posted November 16, 2008 I just caused the exact same problem on mine. Had the CB out to work on the fairing and forgot to reattach the DIN cable that goes from the CB to the amp.
Brake Pad Posted November 16, 2008 #12 Posted November 16, 2008 I wonder, do you have the handle bar box, set to Headset, instead of speakers?
