Just turned 12K on Avon Rear.

Measured the Tread Depth that is left this afternoon.

Between 1/16 and 1/8 Inch left dead Center. I will call it 3/32nds

So another 2000 miles to go, should make 14K.

Tire seems to be wearing even, still looks good.

I measured it at 1/8 inch tread, left before I went on the Reno Trip, on 2 July.

2200 miles took off 1/32nd worth of rubber. Rideing Single, about 60 lb. luggage.

If anybody is interested.

Will be replaceing with an Elite III, Its sitting on the garage floor.

IS that sort of the average people are getting ?

I changed my Dunlop at 12,000 miles and there was just over 1/16" left on the tire. I changed it before the ride to Maintanace day, which was about 700 miles and I was pulling a trailer and riding two up. Did not want to take the chance.

I got almost 16000 out of my Avon - before the cord was showing and left me stuck in Erie, PA. I should have changed the tire at 12 or 13k.

I currently have 17K miles on my Avon Venom and will probably have 18K by the time I change it next week and I think I have even more tread showing than yours. I am sticking with the Avon:thumbsup:

13k on the rear. I could have gone longer but I replaced it because I was planning to do a lot of riding in Ontario and the center was getting somewhat flat. Sigh. The best laid plans...

13,600 on the rear, with some center tread showing, but I was planning a 4,000 mile trip and did not want to try and find a tire and dealer to do the change in no man's land, which is where I was riding. I'm sold on the Avons.

Those numbers seem very common for the Avon Venom rear tires on the RSV. I have gotten about 15,000 each out of two of them. Of course, there are a few who will report both surprisingly short and long life out of the same tire, but the majority seem to be right around 14K.
