My brother has been researching motorcycles to buy and has just about decided to buy a new RSV. Does anyone know where the best deal can be made, dealers here want full list price. Would appreciate any input on possibilities.

Thanks,

Dean

Like freebird said, don't know how far he'd be willing to travel but here's a couple more options.

I got mine from a local (Memphis) Yamaha dealer $14999 for an 08 Venture S (last one). North Mississippi has a good deal at Lake Hills in Corinth, $14999 for two tone and $15299 for the S http://www.hondadiscountprices.com/yamahaonroad.htm#touring. In NW Tennessee Abernathy's in Union City normally has them for the same price, but I believe they're out now http://www.abernathycycles.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?sid=0580517X7K24K2008J4I35I17JPMQ1205R0&Manufacturer=2&Category=1&CatDesc=Motorcycles

There used to be a discount place in Jackson Tn that ran almost the same prices.

I don't buy new vehicles. I let someone else take the majority of the depreciation value.

I would be looking into an 06 or 07 used model for less then 10k if I was in the market and had some cash.

Got mine in April of this year, Midnight RSV 07 from Scott Johnson @ Honda East Maumee, Ohio Scott was super to deal with and had great customer reviews on their website. i drove 190 miles one way to get mine, rode in home. i was there for 30 minutes and gone. easy to work with and the price they give u is what you pay when you arrive no hidden fees or charges. love mine and by the way it rained on me hard from lima back to hillsboro, got a great feel for the bike in rain wet conditions and it performed flawlessly. check out the website and give him a call. i bet he'll beat any deal, got mine out the door for 13,925.00 brand new 0 miles even had tags and documents ready and in my name.. http://www.hondaeasttoledo.com/

Just purchased one from Max Pitts Yamaha in Peru Indiana.

About $2,000 off of list and a very good trade-in allowance for my old bike.

..............................If for any reason you are interested in Honda East, (actually it is in Maumee, Ohio), let me know. I live less than 10 miles from there, and I go there every week, and know almost all the salespeople.

Around here the prices go from as much as Retail + to $14999 in Charlotsville. The dealer down near UVA did have about 4 to choose from.

I don't know how far he is willing to travel but it seems that http://www.hondaeasttoledo.com/ has good prices. That is near Toledo, OH though.

Most dealers in Pgh wouldn't come down a lot. Someone told me about one in Erie for 13000. Actually, it was 13200, and didn't "include dealer prep etc", but got the bike for 14500 otd (07, new). :cool17:

Thanks to everyone for the responses. This is some good information and will give him some good places to start and have an idea of what is a good price.
