rez Posted July 24, 2008 #1 Posted July 24, 2008 I notice my shift pedal bushing has a fair amount of play/wear. It appears most of the wear is in the bushing. The bushing is not available separately....you have to buy the complete pedal assembly. Has anyone attempted or come up with a bushing replacement...dimensions/sizes?? Is the bushing material bronze? Thanks.
5bikes Posted July 24, 2008 #2 Posted July 24, 2008 Take it off and apply a lot of thick grease. Oil the ball joints often. I rebuilt bikes and noone ever oils or greases anything, wondering why the moving joints are worn or hard to move. DAH.

Thanks. I've tightened things up by cutting a piece of plastic milk carton to fit exactly around the shaft, lube the 'H' out of it and slip it into the gap. Works.... If the gap is too tight try a piece of thinner plastic, just don't forget to lube.
