waterbug Posted July 21, 2008 #1 Posted July 21, 2008 I am new to ridding as I havent had a bike in 15yrs and everyone I know who does ride are into the Harley seen and party. I dont drink and ride and dont want to be with them but was wondering if anyone is or knows much about the star clubs in Indy and westfield? I talked to my dealer and he couldnt help much. Thanks for any info
Bummer Posted July 21, 2008 #2 Posted July 21, 2008 Next time you're at Dryer's look up Elmo. He used to be the pres of the local chapter, may still be. He works at Dryer's. Shows up on here sometimes too. Welcome. There's a Meet & Eat around Brown Co. area this Saturday. If you can make it check out the Meet & Eat section for info.

Thanks for any info Yo waterbug... Easy on the stereotypes... Not all Harley Riders Drink & Ride and I bet a few Star Riders do... Here's the official forum of Star Riders USA
Freebird Posted July 21, 2008 #4 Posted July 21, 2008 I may be wrong because I am just assuming and we ALL know what that means. I assumed though that he was talking about the Yamaha Star Touring chapters.
MAINEAC Posted July 21, 2008 #5 Posted July 21, 2008 I thought it was all the same thing...Good catch Don... . I was wrong.... The link I posted is a free club... this one's gonna cost ya: Indianapolis Star Chapter #144
tazmocycle Posted July 21, 2008 #6 Posted July 21, 2008 http://forums.delphiforums.com/star_riders/start you can post on here and maybe find some folks in your area. it's free to join. the star riders usa is a breakoff group from the isra forum. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GROUP?? DON'T YOU LIKE US?? if you are looking for local folks to ride with, you might also checkout the southerncruisers.net they may have a group near you. sometimes you have to just go and meet up with the group and see if they fit your needs for riding. i have ridden with all the differant star groups and some i like and others have been rude and snobby to me. thats all i'm going to say about it. hope you find what makes you happy, because that what it's all about, don.
Freebird Posted July 21, 2008 #7 Posted July 21, 2008 HEY...I wasn't saying anything bad about that group, just that I didn't think it was what he was asking about. But you KNOW that.......you just like I agree...check them all out and have fun.
Bummer Posted July 22, 2008 #8 Posted July 22, 2008 Woops. My bad. I just looked it up. Charlie Cutsinger is pres of 144 now, not Elmo. If you've purchased a new RSV eventually they'll send you a year's free membership. Mine only took two years.
waterbug Posted July 22, 2008 Author #9 Posted July 22, 2008 Thanks for the info! I wasnt talking bad about harley riders in general but the ones I know that ride do ride the harleys and just want to go bar to bar and then ride around, I just want to have a good time and meet some new people to ride with with out baby sitting so to speak. Thanks for the info on the ride to brown county this sat, Mariner asked if we would like to go and we would but my girlfriend just had some surgery and cant ride for a few weeks so I cant do that at this point but would love to join up and ride with some of you. Just tryin to get my ducks in a row til we can ride again and meet some of the nice people out there.
thumper1 Posted July 22, 2008 #10 Posted July 22, 2008 we joined the southern cruisers some time back and have not been able to be as involved as we would like. but the folks we have met have been very nice and not into the party thing. so if you are interested. there are no dues or fees and the group is a big contributor to st. judes. ride safe and be cool thumper1
