BoomerCPO Posted July 21, 2008 #1 Posted July 21, 2008 Is anyone here running the Baron 4-2-4 Nasty Boy Slip-On pipes on their Venture? If so.......What did you use for a gasket where the pipes actually slip on the exhaust pipe? I have hunted high and low and cannot find, or even determine, if gaskets are needed for these Slip On pipes. Thanks for any info/responses. Regards...........Boomer
yamahamer Posted July 21, 2008 #2 Posted July 21, 2008 I have a friend that put them on a RSTD and used nothing. I also have nothing on my BUB's and it works just fine.
BuddyRich Posted July 21, 2008 #3 Posted July 21, 2008 I don't think your going to use a gasket. The RK pipes bolt right on.
Pecker Posted July 21, 2008 #4 Posted July 21, 2008 Not running the Nasty Boys, but have installed a couple of sets. No gaskets needed. They will seal nicely, as long as you slide them far enough onto the header. A little anti-sieze helps a lot. If you need to persuade the pipes a little, use a block of wood and a hammer to LIGHTLY tap the pipes in place. Should not be too difficult. BTW, I love the sound and the looks of these pipes, hope you do too.
BoomerCPO Posted July 21, 2008 Author #5 Posted July 21, 2008 Thanks for the info guys.....I don't think mine are seated all the way because I did not use anti-seize when I installed them. I really love the sound these Baron's give that big V-4..... Regards.......Boomer

I'm wanting to change out my pipes on my 06 but though I want them louder than stock, I don't want them overly loud as we have noise laws coming into effect.. A nice deep rumble is nice, something to let people know the "baby geezer glide" has power behind it ; )
AmnChode Posted July 23, 2008 #7 Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) If you aren't looking for loud, these are not for you...Me and my best friend live across the street from each other. I with my Venture w/ 4-2-4s and his garage is filled with a nice collage of bikes...He personally has a Honda Valkyrie with Cobra 6-into-6 pipes, his wife has a Honda VT600 with Cobra drag pipes, and his father-in-law has a Honda VTX 1300 with Cobras and a Harley Ultra Classic with some Screaming Eagles...Only the Harley might be louder and it ain't by much.... The 4-2-4s border on being loud and flat out obnoxious when you get on em, which I have no problem with...but others might...especially others with ticket books Beer30 used to have a video up but the link seems dead now...but I think I still have a copy of it. But, your best bet would probably be to find a set of Road King exhaust, and bore em out... Got it up: http://amnchode.net/Downloads/424SB.wmv Edited July 23, 2008 by AmnChode added vid link...

Got it up: http://amnchode.net/Downloads/424SB.wmv Just the info I needed, 4-2-4's are prolly TOO loud for what I need. I have the Cobra HP Pro 2in1 on my VStar and those are just the right tone and loudness for my liking.. the previous V&H Classics were obnoxious.. but fun loud.. but harsh.. I checked out the video and those pipes didn't sound too obnoxiously loud (nice idle rumble) even when he barked it.. Nice looking pipes! What do you mean about Road King Mufflers and "boring them out" to fit? I have a local fella looking to sell his Screamin' Eagle pipes for a decent price. He had these on his Venture before he sold the bike.. These made the bike sound like a heavy V8 engine, deep rumble, louder than stock but not painfully so.. prolly 10 db's more. Might have to get a look at these soon.. Thanks for the info M8
