star4earl Posted July 21, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2008 Hi all, I have recently added a Venture fairing to my 1998 Royal Star. What I'm looking for is the windshield bracket (the metal band that you screw the windshield to). Additionally I need to fill the holes left where the speedometer/idiot light/cassette door reside. These parts NEED NOT BE FUNCTIONAL, in fact I would prefer they be non-working condition as the Royal Star has all instruments on the tank, and I'm just going to paint these black and use them as block off plates. I will be posting on various Royal Star/Venture sites. Thankyou Earl star4earl@comcast.net
pegscraper Posted July 21, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2008 Might want to check ebay real quick. There is a pile of Venture parts there right now. Looks like someone is parting one out.
star4earl Posted July 21, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted July 21, 2008 pegscraper, Been on Ebay. Those parts are all functional and priced accordingly. I"m hoping to find some economical non-working electrical parts. Thanks for the heads up though ,,,,
pegscraper Posted July 21, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 21, 2008 Pinwall is not the cheapest game around, are they. I was thinking that the bracket might not be too bad though. I don't know. And let's see some pics of this project. I thought about doing this once, but the flavor that my bike developed doesn't lend itself to the fairing look. Freebird Posted July 21, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 21, 2008 Well, Pinwall is a business. Not just somebody parting out a bike for some extra money. I have been to their place and was impressed with the operation. Unlike many salvage yards, they bring a bike in and immediately tear it completely down and have all the parts well organized and stored inside. Nothing ever sits outside in the weather. They are not a "sell it for what it will bring" outfit but I think their prices are fair. Usually at LEAST 50% off new and often more than that.
