V7Goose Posted July 21, 2008 #1 Posted July 21, 2008 Looking for a replacement right rear crash bar for an RSV - the chrome crash bar right in front of the right saddlebag. Mine still has some road rash on the lower corner after my wreck last year, so now I would like to replace it. Anyone know of a good one available at a nice price? Thanx! Goose
Eck Posted July 21, 2008 #2 Posted July 21, 2008 I looked Goose in my free parts junk, but do not have one.... If you can wait till after the Ashville Rally, I can "get you one".....
Ponch Posted July 21, 2008 #3 Posted July 21, 2008 Hay Goose. Why not fill it with brass and re-chrome it? Ponch
Freebird Posted July 21, 2008 #4 Posted July 21, 2008 Kent, I don't know what they cost new but Pinwall has a set of them for 49.95. Didn't look real close at the condition. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-XVZ1200-REAR-SADDLEBAG-CRASH-BAR-SET_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ10066QQihZ003QQitemZ130219531267QQrdZ1

If V7Goose is looking for a 2nd Gen bar then this might be more to his liking: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-Royal-Star-XV1300-RIGHT-SADDLEBAG-GUARD_W0QQitemZ370069344914QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370069344914&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318

I then saw additional photos and the crash bar being sold is a mess. It should've occured to me since the bike being parted had all the damage on the right side. Sorry Kent, I got ahead of myself there.
V7Goose Posted July 23, 2008 Author #8 Posted July 23, 2008 Yup, it is sure scabbed up pretty bad! Interesting that they chose the one picture that seemed to almost hide it all for the primary one. But no biggie - can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your taking the time and effort to make a special call to me to clue me in on time - I REALLY do appreciate friendship like that! Thanx again Goose
