bugfish69 Posted July 19, 2008 #1 Posted July 19, 2008 Most places are offering a 150/90H15 and 150/90V15 which is correct for the 2nd gen and what's the difference? I don't see a matching 150/80V16 I only see a 150/80H16.
V7Goose Posted July 19, 2008 #2 Posted July 19, 2008 Either tire will work fine - they are the same size. The H and V are speed ratings - H is rated at 130, and the V is something higher. The H also has an 80 load rating, where the V tire is only a 74 (same as the stock tires). Although I have never used the V rated Avon, in my experience with V rated tires on other vehicles, they will wear out much faster than an H rated tire. The bottom line is that the 80H rated tire will safely carry more weight (even if the RSV is not rated for that much load) and should last longer. Goose
MAINEAC Posted July 19, 2008 #3 Posted July 19, 2008 Yeah what Goose said... I'm guessing but I noticed my buddy's older Boss Hoss has the same tire sizes as the RSV and I think the heavier load rated tire may have been made for that... But it works on the RSV... BTW I only got 7500 miles out of the heavier rated tire.. I'm not gonna find out what the 74 rated tire will do.
