DragonRider Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I just received a phone call from my son, he works for a company that does turn-arounds in refinerys all over the country. He was at the refinery in Pasadena, Tx today when one of the worlds largest cranes collasped killing 4 workers and injuring 7, he was about 100 yards away and saw the whole thing, he was very shaken up when I talked to him, he was to be working in that area where the crane was once they got it set up. I have and will always worry about the work he does in such dangerous places.............I think he will think more about what dangers are around him now............Our prayers go out for the families of those killed and injured.
mini-muffin Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I heard that on the news today. Very sad. Seems to be way too many of these cranes having accidents. Glad your son was ok. Margaret
sarges46 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Bad for the families...I feel for them. I am also glad your son was not injured, but, he will need some time to recover from witnessing that tragedy.
Sweetnothing Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Lewis, Glad to hear your Son was not hurt!! Prayers go out to those who were hurt, and to the ones who didn't make it! Tell your son to keep his eyes open, and be on guard at all times! We will pray that he don't have anything happen in the future!
VTirelli Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 those are life changing experiences.....I've seen some horrific things on my job and it always makes me appreciate everything that I have. Give your son an extra hug and an ear to unload..I know he'll need it:bighug:
brscooter Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Lewis, the crane is owned by a company in Baton Rouge, according to an article in our paper today. Lyle
