mini-muffin Posted July 18, 2008 #26 Posted July 18, 2008 Hey boss don't forget you are in WV and you do know a certain State Trooper up there. In case ya need a cop. Don't get too down about it. It'll be fixable or replaceable later. Just enjoy your trip. You and Eileen deserve a nice time, sorry some idiot tried to ruin your trip. Margaret
SilvrT Posted July 18, 2008 #27 Posted July 18, 2008 I ain't into HD cat collars,Ceiling fans and the rest of al that boutique crap........ Dang!!! this made me laugh! :rotf: (thinkin about my son here LOL)
pick Posted July 18, 2008 #28 Posted July 18, 2008 Oh yeah, they got cat collars in 17 different sizes, dog bowls, fish tanks, doggie bandanas, HD underware in 147 sizes from XXXXs to 4058XXX.jeans, jackets, boots, sandals, jewelry, glasses, mugs, expresso machines that make it in orange and black, But try and find a timing plug for an 81 shovel,, yeah right.......... never could fiqure out why they sold raingear?????????????
Skid Posted July 18, 2008 #29 Posted July 18, 2008 Did you think to ask the Hotel if they had any video surveillance? Maybe you'll get lucky like RandyA......
StarRider07 Posted July 18, 2008 #30 Posted July 18, 2008 So sorry to hear about that. Someone just did that to my car the other day. I swear, if I ever catch anyone doing that to anyones vehicle, he will be severily hurt. Scumbags!!!
KingSizer Posted July 18, 2008 #31 Posted July 18, 2008 Oh yeah, they got cat collars in 17 different sizes, ...But try and find a timing plug for an 81 shovel,, yeah right.......... never could fiqure out why they sold raingear????????????? :rotfl: Don, sorry to hear about the scratch, but don't let it ruin your day, just a little aggrevation that will be fixed eventually. Like someone said once, "life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it".
BuddyRich Posted July 18, 2008 #32 Posted July 18, 2008 Good excuse to sell it and buy that Ultra you've always wanted. :-) Trouble maker.. But there's a 150hp 1700cc V4 just over the horizon.
Redneck Posted July 18, 2008 #33 Posted July 18, 2008 Definitely check for video. We have had the VR scavenger hunt now we can have the VR scum bag hunt. If we can catch him after the killing we can have him stuffed, take him to meets so everybody can take out their frustrations on him. Just a thought.
BEER30 Posted July 18, 2008 #34 Posted July 18, 2008 Hey Don , Sorry to hear the bad news . But as TT mentioned on the leather covers , you tell me what you want and I will make . Maybe I'll make one for the other side as well to match ! :rotf: I'll even hand tool a scenery or a design ......necked women , skull & cross bones , tribal , swamp monster ? Or just text "Do Not Touch or I will twist your arms off and scratch your A&& with them " . You can still take the time to color match , or have them airbrushed . Better yet , I know of a place to get hand engraved silver trimmings ! Or we can all pitch in and get you a big "Band-Aid" to go over it . If you choose the leather idear , you know I will have to share the honor of having the BEST Damn Looking Bike (if only yours was black cherry also). But Hey your worth it ! BEER30
SilvrT Posted July 18, 2008 #35 Posted July 18, 2008 Or just text "Do Not Touch or I will twist your arms off and scratch your A&& with them " ...or as the Italian guy said... "you toucha my ride .... I busta you face" ...another one... "surviving trespassers will be prosecuted"
Guest JGorom Posted July 18, 2008 #36 Posted July 18, 2008 Wow...so sorry to hear that Don...I think I would have been sick over that. I'd talk to the hotel and see if they have a tape of the parking lot activity for that day/night. Worth a shot.
Guest Highway Posted July 18, 2008 #37 Posted July 18, 2008 Pick, Like I have always said.... HD,, thats the accessory company that sells motorcycles on the side. My last HD was during the bowling ball era, want no more.
pick Posted July 18, 2008 #38 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Mine was made the month HD bought the company back..... AMF saved Harley Davidson............................ Be in Chatanooga in the am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited July 18, 2008 by pick
Yammer Dan Posted July 18, 2008 #39 Posted July 18, 2008 That really sucks Don. Maybe he will be a resident at my place one of these days!
kantornado Posted July 18, 2008 #40 Posted July 18, 2008 It is a sad thing people have to do this type of stupidity. Had a guy once who hit my bike and was going to run but could not get out with out running over me. I had someone burn holes on the inside of my helmet with a cigarette, slice my cover with a knife, break my toggle switches and key my car. There are people who are just jealous or envious of what others have or they are just plain mean. It would be nice to catch them tho.......................Ron
99silver Posted July 18, 2008 #41 Posted July 18, 2008 Don, I guess I'm out of the running for the next International Meet, seeing that I suggested West Virginia. I could of used that $100 bucks. Sorry about your bike, that really sucks. Gary
Freebird Posted July 18, 2008 Author #42 Posted July 18, 2008 I'd gladly swap ya, if our colors match? I ain't one into cosmetics. I'm not being an as*** here, but really, if our colors match, a sctatch ain't no big deal to me.......... That's a great offer but I would NEVER do it. Thanks though. Good excuse to sell it and buy that Ultra you've always wanted. :-) Not going to happen at this time. I was about ready to pull the trigger early this year but regardless of you saying your's isn't bad, I've read WAY too many reports about the excess heat. I'll wait to see what the offer for '09 and what Yamaha offers for '09 or '10. A "good" shop will charge you just about as much to fix it as Yamaha will to sell you one that will match exactly. I had a small spot fixed once and it was like $90.00. Have you priced these things? Doesn't look like they sell just the lid and the entire bag is about $800.00. That $90.00 sounds pretty cheap.
flb_78 Posted July 19, 2008 #43 Posted July 19, 2008 Are you sure it was intentional? 4 or 5 inches doesn't sound intentional. Sounds like somebody was unloading luggage and drug a metal corner over the top of the bag. It'd be cheaper for me to buy a new bike then fix all the scratches and dings in my bike.
autopilot Posted July 19, 2008 #44 Posted July 19, 2008 This will likely meet with much resistance,BUT, depending on the scratch...you could work out a design incorporating it. Then apply the design to both sides.... problem solved..sorta! AND, idiots would not have been my first choice of descriptive terms......
Venture90 Posted July 19, 2008 #45 Posted July 19, 2008 Had that happen to me 3weeks ago in Springfield, IL. at a restraunt. About a 3" scratch on my trunk box.
