On mine , and all the others I've seen, the black insert part was painted on and came off in the acid dip.

Looks good. I had mine powder coated black with chrome inserts looks pretty good. Now I have Kawasaki Voyager bars on the bike instead.

Gee...how about a little warning there...I almost burnt my eyeballs out. Thank God my dark sunglasses were on the desk next to my computer...I got them on just in time.

PS They look great...now for a picture with them installed...but don't forget the warning!
