Jethroish Posted July 15, 2008 #1 Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) I know that diesel engines will improve mpg over a breaking period. My truck saw an increase in mpg from 17 (new) to 20 to 21 after 20,000 miles. I have just turned 14,000 miles on my RSV and the last 3 tanks of fuel I have gotten 48 to 50 mpg. NO, I am not complaining. Just quite happy at the milage. The only other thing could be that I ran some Seafoam thought it within the last 800 miles. Edited July 15, 2008 by Jethroish
Bummer Posted July 15, 2008 #2 Posted July 15, 2008 Congratulations. I don't know how you do it. I'm mid thirties and that's that. Less with a headwind. I've hit the forties before but not often. Been that way since I bought an '85 back in '90. I guess I should be glad I didn't buy this bike for mileage.
waterbug Posted July 16, 2008 #3 Posted July 16, 2008 I am getting alittle over 40mpg on my new 08 and have around 1200 miles on it so far, it gets alittle better with each tank and the last one was 42 with alot of in town and country roads and not going over 60 mph.
Freebird Posted July 16, 2008 #4 Posted July 16, 2008 Eileen and I just got to West Virginia. Mixed riding today between 50-75 MPH. Riding two up and pulling a Bushtec trailer that was probably a bit overloaded. Ended up getting 33.6 MPG. Hilly roads. Would like to see a bit better but it could be worse I guess.
Yammer Dan Posted July 16, 2008 #5 Posted July 16, 2008 WEST VIRGINIA?? I've heard of that place......
