RoadKill Posted July 15, 2008 #1 Posted July 15, 2008 What aftermarket supplier makes a rack to fit in the hitch on an RSV? I've seen them out there and I know some folks have made their own. I won't be making my own because I'm not talented enough :crying:so unless someone jumps up and volunteer to make me one:thumbsup: I'm out searching. Any help in the way of supplier links would be appreciated. Thanks,

jrcain32 Posted July 15, 2008 #3 Posted July 15, 2008 Go to Venturedad.com and look under "coming soon" tab. He may already be producing these. Give him a call. Excellent to do business with...

petekadish Posted July 16, 2008 #8 Posted July 16, 2008 Go to Alsmotorcycleaccessories.com I can also take it off the hitch and mount it on the arm of my trailer. Al rocks! Another satisfied customer! Pete.
buddy Posted July 16, 2008 #9 Posted July 16, 2008 Thanks Jay, For bring this up! I been thinking of using a rack this year instead of the trailer for Eureka Springs. But I did not know if I wanted to build one or be lazy and buy one? But with me working two jobs, sounds like I'll be better off buying one. Thanks everybody for the info. on this . Now I can shop around some more. Buddy

Another satisfied customer! Pete. Hey Pete did the lights come with it? This is the one I'm thinking of currently becuase it seems reasonably priced and what I'm looking for. Jay
Squidley Posted July 16, 2008 #11 Posted July 16, 2008 Here is some http://www.alsmotorcycleaccessories.com/ I have others to send once I am back to home computer. Regards Dave For the $100 thats not too bad, I made one out of Aluminum and it would almost cost me that in materials. I was going to attempt to make some, but at that price I wont waste my time as there would be no profit at all for me to make it
petekadish Posted July 16, 2008 #12 Posted July 16, 2008 Al just sold me the Rack and the Mounting Bar for the receiver. I added the following to finish it off: LED Brake Light Bar - From Diamond-R Accessories - About $40 Billett, LED Silver-Bullet Turn Signals from Kuryakyan - About $130 Misc. wiring & connectors - About $10 Those were the lights I used. I know . . . way expensive! But, they do look awesome. It would be easy to find many other less-expensive, good-looking options. Happy Ride to Work Day! Be Safe! Pete.
kenw Posted August 19, 2008 #13 Posted August 19, 2008 I don't know who made it, but it fit on the trailer hitch and was big enough for a small cooler( looked like a car battery). The bike was at Black Mountain if anyone can chime in. Momma loved it!! Kenw

Schlepporello Posted August 21, 2008 #15 Posted August 21, 2008 Not meaning to be the one to be the neysayer on these as they do look great and I am interested, but..................... It's been my experience in this state that the city and state cops git a little picky when you go to blocking things like license plates and lights with things like cargo boxes. Could these be cause for an unwanted ticket?

The ones I have looked at have lights and I was figuring I would need to move the License too, because I agree with you not good to block things, ESPECIALLY the lights for saftely sake alone.

I just had my father make one for me tht holds a 25qt igloo marine. I added lights to it, but the license plate was still visible above the cooler. No need to move it. Bug

Dano Posted August 21, 2008 #19 Posted August 21, 2008 Cool, you're lucky. Wish I had someone to make me one! Hope it works well for you. What are you alluding to, Jay????? You know my motto is "have angle will weld"!!!!! I've actually been mulling over the idea of building my own hitch and rack. Cotton pickin' MK1's don't have a lot of storage on 'em for those weekend trips!!!! Dan
Snarley Bill Posted August 21, 2008 #20 Posted August 21, 2008 hey guys, i saw one that brad made and it was top of the line. he is a professional welder and fabricator. maybe if you talk nice to him he will make some for you. then we could keep the business among our members. just a thought bill

Wasn't really alluding just wishful thinking. My Dad was a welder and would make all kinds of things too. He's been gone for some time, but I still miss him. When I hear folks make there own items or have a friend or family do it, I miss him even more. I always was the idea guy and Dad was the get it done guy. However..............., with your motto and your mullings, maybe we should get together and do some designing and fabrication. I feel an Indiana Roadtrip coming on!
