Wolfie Posted July 8, 2008 #1 Posted July 8, 2008 Just saw this on Yahoo's front page and man, it's pretty cool...er, weired, well I wouldn't have hung out to film it... It has to be fake. What's yall's take? http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?cl=8704649
BuddyRich Posted July 8, 2008 #2 Posted July 8, 2008 Don't think its fake. I have seen them like that a couple of times over the wetlands in between Stockton and the SF Bay when they are migrating. Normally farm land in the summer and then they flood it for the winter and it becomes wetlands. Its pretty amazing to watch.
BurgyMon Posted July 8, 2008 #3 Posted July 8, 2008 Naw, that's real. I've seen simular formations like that in N Alabama.
BigShell Posted July 8, 2008 #4 Posted July 8, 2008 Fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to be under them!
GigaWhiskey Posted July 8, 2008 #5 Posted July 8, 2008 Fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to be under them! EXACTLY what I was thinking!
funrider Posted July 8, 2008 #6 Posted July 8, 2008 Fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to be under them! At least don't have your mouth open while looking up at them!!!! :rotf:
spear Posted July 8, 2008 #7 Posted July 8, 2008 At least don't have your mouth open while looking up at them!!!! :rotf: You should keep your mouth open, otherwise they'll crap in ya eye.:rotf:
autopilot Posted July 9, 2008 #8 Posted July 9, 2008 Fun to watch, but I wouldn't want to be under them! You wouldn't want to live any where near where they roost either....if you want to sleep at all!
DragonRider Posted July 9, 2008 #9 Posted July 9, 2008 I have seen formations like that also, Purple Martins feeding on mosquitos, donw in S. La. Dont know if thats what those were. It is an amazing site to see.
SaltyDawg Posted July 9, 2008 #10 Posted July 9, 2008 Get those a lot around here in the late Summer early Fall. Pretty neat to watch.
Owen Posted July 9, 2008 #12 Posted July 9, 2008 I have seen black birds flock like this around here as they are about to roost. Sorta looks like they were looking for a 'target', you know... maybe a 1st gen or something!
Brake Pad Posted July 10, 2008 #13 Posted July 10, 2008 they liked like barn swallows, in the form and flying patterns
