Goldwing Trike

[Albino Rhino]

An almost new (1800 miles) burgandy 2006 Goldwing Motor Trike is replacing the Albino Rhino. This was a difficult decision for me, but overall safety took priority. I'll miss two wheels, but not having to wrestle with the Rhino to keep it up in certain slow, 2-up maneuvering situations will be a plus--not as young as I used to be! We tested it Saturday and brought it home yesterday.

I'll still be hanging out here, though!

Your safety should always be a top priority and good luck with the trike they are great fun and more stable than a sidecar. Of course if your wanted to convert the Rhinio into a trike theres a attachment called the Voyager that is two wheels that attach to the bike and turn it into a trike. The bikes rear wheel still drives it but its effectively a 4 wheel trike(?). They'll even paint the fenders the same coloe as your bike. There are actually two companies out there making similar devices . One ( the Voyager) uses car tires with nice chrome wheels the other uses smaller trailer tires with small plastic fennders . they look slike training wheels. I'd personnally go for the Biker wheels and tires. Something for others out there to look into that want that added stability but don't want to give up the old bike.

Wow, no more Albino Rhino....I sure can understand the heaviness of the 2nd gen though. I may have to go to a sidecar in the next few years if my knee replacement surgery dont go well next year. Mike, best of wishes and good luck with the trike.

Very nice. I really like the trikes of all kinds. Not ready for one physically yet but will sure not hesitate when the time comes. I may even do it before there is a physical need simply because I like them so much. Look forward to seeing it in person someday.

If you ever get near Canton, GA, I think I can arrange a test ride for you. My biggest surprise on my initial test ride was the somewhat heavy input to the steering--not like counter steering. But I've decided that this is a good thing as you would have to work real hard to oversteer the trike.

 

I bought mine at R&R Trikes & Bikes in Jasper, GA www.rtrikes.com>. This dealer specializes in buying at auction low mileage Goldwings and then converting them with the Motor Trike kit. The local painter they use does a perfect color & finish match to the front end of the bike.

You'll find that the steering is totaly different from conventional counter steerin as on two wheels but nothing that can't be learned. Or become accustomed to. Give it some time and miles under your belt to gain full confindence in your ride.

Nice ride!!! The wife and I have already decided we would go that route if the laws of body physics dictates so later on. SUM(Age + Abuse) > STRENGTH(Joints+Knees+Hips)

Yes, the steering has plenty of feedback, but I think that is good because it keeps from oversteering. And as an added benefit, about this time next year my pecs ought to be lookin real good!
