nyjerry Posted July 3, 2008 #1 Posted July 3, 2008 Thought this was pretty cool to keep a little one from falling off. Said he bought it in canada but it was made for horse back riding and snowmobiling. Jerry
Double D Posted July 4, 2008 #2 Posted July 4, 2008 Just my opinion, if they are that small, they don't need to be riding.
nkbjones Posted July 4, 2008 #3 Posted July 4, 2008 It looks like the belt in this link http://www.childridingbelt.com/enghome.htm They go for around $130. I've though about getting one, but with the drivers backrest it would be kind of difficult. With the drivers backrest and armrests I find that the kids are just fine back there.
dragerman Posted July 4, 2008 #5 Posted July 4, 2008 I've seen this before and think it's a great idea, wished I had one a few times but I no longer have the kids helmet (guess I've grown out of it). As for the bungee cords... it's either that or velcro on their butts!
PBJ Posted July 4, 2008 #6 Posted July 4, 2008 That riding device has been around for about ten years. Its mainly for those riding standards or cruisers or even sport bikes. They are a bit pricey but even if the child falls asleep they don't fall off. My wife and I both rode and we eventually bought a sidecar but my son who was the youngest rode behind me on the bike. ( better weight distribition) My Old Yamaha had a movable back rest so we could move it forward then we used a large belt like a seat belt around the backrest to give him (and us) a little added security. We travelled back and forth to the Adirondacks for years that way until the kids got their own bikes and rode with us. But the riding harness always seemed like a great invention
a1bummer Posted July 4, 2008 #7 Posted July 4, 2008 I remember when I, my older sister and brother, used to all ride with my dad on the old Honda. I loved to ride with my Uncle when I was barely out of diapers. I used to ride in front of him on the seat. Aaaaa, the good old days. I guess a lot of things have changed since then.
KingSizer Posted July 4, 2008 #8 Posted July 4, 2008 Bungee cords work... :rotf: what about duct tape?
Twenty7Delta Posted July 4, 2008 #10 Posted July 4, 2008 I have one - worked great when my kids were smaller. My daughter just could not sit still and would be looking all over the place - she has NO fear! If someone wants mine, they can have it (not planning any more additions!)...
