GlennTuc Posted July 3, 2008 #1 Posted July 3, 2008 My Step Son wrecked his 750 Suzuki this afternoon. He was getting on the parkway and an 18 wheeler had pulled into the other lane to let him in and then pulled back in on him. He said the last he remembered was hitting the brakes. It scattered parts for nearly 1/8 mile. Looked like the truck actually hit the bike. He had his leather on, but still has several scratches. This is his first day home on leave from the Army. Not a good way to start a vacation!!
cecdoo Posted July 3, 2008 #2 Posted July 3, 2008 Wow, if he got hit by an 18 wheeler and only got a few scratches, I would say he did alrite, sorry to hear about his crash, I would like to Thank him for his service. Craig
davepa Posted July 3, 2008 #3 Posted July 3, 2008 Good to hear he is doing well! I feel his pain, my Venture was taken out :thumbdown:by a 06' Pontiac this past Friday. Still I wait for the adjuster, but thankfully I was wearing the proper gear and am still :2133:here to talk about it. Good luck! Dave
Marcarl Posted July 3, 2008 #4 Posted July 3, 2008 Glad to hear it wasn't any worse, and wish him our best.
PBJ Posted July 3, 2008 #5 Posted July 3, 2008 We love our children and we love our bikes and riding. We teach our children to ride and hopefully they see years of our safe riding to learn from. Then we get them their first bike and send them out amongst the cagers. We believe they are safe because we know we've taught them well but what happened to your sion becomes a parent's and fellow riders worse nightmare , that unexpected manuever another driver makes that me may never have taught them. yes its a parent riders worse nightmare.
VTirelli Posted July 3, 2008 #6 Posted July 3, 2008 Glad he's still here to talk about it. Thank him for his service.
GlennTuc Posted July 4, 2008 Author #7 Posted July 4, 2008 I'd like to thank ya for your kind thoughts and let ya know he's doing great considering the circumstances. He said the 18 wheeler pulled into the left lane to let him and his cousin onto the parkway, and then pulled back into the right lane into them. His cousin managed to get slowed down enough to get out of the way. The truck driver never slowed down, he kept on going. My stepson was wearing riding boots, jeans, short sleeve shirt and a helmet. He got a pretty severe case of road rash and he's very sore, but at least he can still tell us about it. Thanks Again, Glenn
Yama Mama Posted July 4, 2008 #8 Posted July 4, 2008 Sure sorry to hear about the accident. Poor guy, I hope he heals up from this. Mama
Yammer Dan Posted July 4, 2008 #9 Posted July 4, 2008 Sorry he went down. Glad he didn't gethurt any worse. Tell him thanks for what he does.
Tatonka Posted July 5, 2008 #10 Posted July 5, 2008 My prayer was and is, "Thank you God, that your stepson is only lightly hurt considering the circumstances." May he heal quickly and completely. Please thank your stepson for his service and let him know we are mighty proud of him and he is in our prayers. Like the prayer I sent out today, God bless our servicewomen, servicemen and their families, no matter where they serve. Happy Independence Day which we wouldn't be celebrating today, if it weren't for friendly nations, stubborn colonists and a poor, hungry and ragged colonial army and militia. They did a good job of setting up our country so we just need to follow what they set up and not allow our politicians to try to fix what isn't broken.
