I think there are springs that hold it on and just a rubber gasket in between the two metal pieces. Might have to give it a couple of taps with a rubber mallet.

HAHA. On my 86 I had to use a 2x4 and 3 pound hammer and I had to beat it good. Split the wood into pieces.

thanx guys, i have already destroyed the tip now, and have still not got it off.. so i pmy harley pipes back on.. they seem to give it more power.. they seem to be pretty plugged anyway..
