Coming back from a Patriot Guard Troop Welcome Home Mission.

I was on I-95 cruising at a steady 70mph. Traffic was light. Road dry.Overcast sky.

Crotch rocket coming up FAST in my rear views and the rider passed me doing at least 80mph. Further up the road, and within my view, he decided to do a wheelie! He looked good until the front tire came down......

I have never seen so many motorcycle parts scattered on a highway to that extent.....I'm glad that I was in the right hand lane and able to avoid the mess!

By the time I pulled over to assist several other folks had done so.One of them was a Doctor on his way to work. It did NOT look good for the Rider of that bike I tell you.

I have to wonder just what would motivate someone to pull a stunt like that at 80+ mph and not realize the consequences if all did not go as planned.:confused24:

Yo Chief,

I hope the guy comes through ok.

I guess adenaline can be a high too and when you're traveling so fast, your smarts just don't keep up. I went down once on the track at a clocked 171 mph during a race and lived through that with no real injuries. Most of my accidents happened on the track but that was what I got paid for. Wish I had been better.

I guess my signature also says it, which probably happens more than we can imagine.

Glad nothing happened to you. Thanks for your service and thanks for the great job you Patriot Riders are doing.

I'll be on the Legacy Run in August and we had a lot of Patriot Riders along last year.

Ride hard, but ride safe and with God. And greetings from a Brown Water Navy GMG.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Patriot Guard Brother. We do the best we can, each in our own way, and our presence does make a difference.

Brown water Navy? I was out of Danang 68-71 on PBR's.....Can't say I miss it at all.

Thanks for serving and Welcome Home Brother!:thumbsup2:

Regards.......Boomer

Youth, inexperience, a feeling of invulnerability and Youtube videos that show squids that do it all the time.

Hope the guy comes out without too many ill effects and hope he learns something from the experience.

Howdy Chief, Sorry you had to see that. I have came up on a couple of bike crashes that have just happened, always gets your attention. Hope he makes it ok and learned a few things. Thinking about joining the guard myself. Seems like the right thing to do!

Thats why Florida has that new rule, all new riders must go through a safty course, before buying a bike, and no cycle shop can sell a bike to a person, unless the have a liecense

Billet....Before you join the Patriot Guard I gently suggest you attend a couple of Missions to see just what it is we do and how we do it. Overall it is an emotional roller coaster ride Shipmate.....

I have over 100 Missions done and my eyes still leak and I grieve right along with the family/friends of a fallen Hero.

Warmest regards......Boomer
