Still no action from button. Where is first place to look??? May get to do one of the rides at Skid-In yet if I have to carry screwdriver in pocket!! Help quick where look first??

Check the wiring going to and from the button. Also, If you have an Ohm meter disconnect the button and then measure resistance across its 2 contacts. Should be open or infinite untill you press the button then it should be nearly 0.

Dan, check the KILL Switch first !!!

The Solenoid (Starter Relay) is operated by the Button when the Killswitch is in ON Position, the Tranny is in Neutral OR the Sidestand is up OR the Clutch Lever is pulled.

When all these Conditions are given, the Contacs of Starter Button may be dirty or the Connector between Main Wireing Harness and the Handlebar Switch has bad Contact.

Solenoids DO go bad... check the wiring... mine had one side of the solenoid ALWAYS hot and the switch grounded the other... so... ground the other...

What kind of 750 ? We have some bikes on the range that will crank over with the kill switch on and others not. I would start at the switchs on the handle bars, then safety switches/relay and last the solenoid itself. In a pinch you can install a aux start button till you sort things out. A solinoid for older cars can be used and are much cheaper if you can find a good place to mount it. A lot of guys on the Virago site use an old Ford solenoid for a lot less money than the bike part. Good luck Rod
