FROG MAN Posted June 25, 2008 #1 Posted June 25, 2008 First Gen business that is. Is it just me or have you noticed? First gen prices for scoots and parts are going high on Ebay compared to last year.Maybe the first gen reputation is getting around thanks to the site.
Condor Posted June 25, 2008 #2 Posted June 25, 2008 Yep... I can't find a decient bargain on Ebay lately. Some stuff is going balistic in bidding. There's been a couple of things come up that I really needed so I tossed in a bid double what I would have paid a year ago to make sure I'd get it. I didn't even come close. I don't know if there are some bidders out there that are trying to stockpile mint/new/NOS stuff, and think they can make a killing reselling them in a couple of years, or what?? But prices are going up faster than a Canaveral launch, and Venture parts are hotter than a Jalapeno pepper... I can't afford to shop Ebay any longer....
Guindalf Posted June 25, 2008 #3 Posted June 25, 2008 It's only good if you're selling - crap if you're buying! Have you seen the effect it's had on scooters????
Yammer Dan Posted June 25, 2008 #4 Posted June 25, 2008 Yep, my pile of parts not growing much these days. May just have to add another bike!
Naked Rider Posted June 25, 2008 #5 Posted June 25, 2008 i bought my scoot about 4 weeks ago and i cant beleave how much they have gone up since then.
FROG MAN Posted June 25, 2008 Author #6 Posted June 25, 2008 Dan all them parts makes a good retirement nest egg. First gens are more valuable then gold. Fast to!
BuddyRich Posted June 25, 2008 #7 Posted June 25, 2008 There becoming a collectors items since they don't make parts for them anymore. :rotf:
Venturous Randy Posted June 25, 2008 #8 Posted June 25, 2008 I was watching a upper right side fairing that was cracked along where the mirror goes and a few scratches on the side of it. It would need some serious work to look any good. It went for $182. I was watching the left side panel where the radio and speaker goes and it went for $226. Muffinman said he bought both sides new for about $138. My grandson broke the left handlebar on his Honda BBR 600. I was watching them and they usually went for $40 to $50. I ended up winning a bid for both sides at once and got them for $12.02. Go figure. Some times ebay gets crazy, but I still have been able to get a few good deals. RandyA
