pick Posted June 25, 2008 #1 Posted June 25, 2008 Just got back from the Smoke Out 9 in N. Carolina. I know I read somewhere here that rear shocks will not bottom out? We hit a few dips on I-85 coming home, and with the bike packed and the OL and I, I swear it bottomed out twice, hard! Parked the bike in the garage after the 400 mile trip home and I have a pretty good wet spot right under the rear, lower shock mount? Called Yamastealer and they want $485.00 just for the shock. Anyone know of a less expensive option? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
V7Goose Posted June 25, 2008 #2 Posted June 25, 2008 No less expensive option, but there is one and only one more expensive option. Works Performance. Once the bike is out of warranty, that seems to be the way to go. Goose

There is a shock company under the "Works" brand that is THE shock to have, but it's a grand.
pick Posted June 25, 2008 Author #4 Posted June 25, 2008 Damn, bad enough to part with 485 let alone a grand..............
FJR Rider Posted June 25, 2008 #5 Posted June 25, 2008 It's not a Grand, more like approximately $650...check with Rick at Buckeye Performance.
gibvel Posted June 25, 2008 #7 Posted June 25, 2008 I was quoted 900+ dollars. Well, they found out that you had a CT on your bike so they figured you fall for anything. :rotf:
