kantornado Posted June 24, 2008 #1 Posted June 24, 2008 They would like to part with. I just ground mine down 1/4 inch. I have a nice lip on the outer edge on both sides. Never even knew it was bad, no noise or grinding. Brake pads go quick on the rear of these 2nd Gens. When you put miles / smiles on them........................................Ron
juggler Posted June 24, 2008 #2 Posted June 24, 2008 Sorry Ron, no spare parts here, but I saw a company on eBay from Ohio parting out a Second Gen and they had the disks for sale. They sure do go quick especially when all you use are the back breaks. Last year I notice my rear brake pads where down the metal on most of the pads. There was no brake grinding or screeching. I just happened to be checking everything and said oh crap look at that! Luckily I caught it before the disk was shot.

stardbog Posted June 25, 2008 #5 Posted June 25, 2008 Well what is difference... Better material, and better Cooling during braking.. I Guess, And cheaper than Stock.
GigaWhiskey Posted June 25, 2008 #6 Posted June 25, 2008 Just take it off, lol. I did! But that was when i was young and realized the back brake was useless since I had a clutch and gears. Heck, while I was at it, I took the speedo and tach off too! But that was then.
kantornado Posted June 25, 2008 Author #7 Posted June 25, 2008 Thanks Stardbog I will check it out. My front ones need replacing also. I use the rear and front together. I even use the front brake more then the rear because of the stopping power. I am still hoping there is someone who might have one.............Ron
Freebird Posted June 25, 2008 #8 Posted June 25, 2008 Ron, I just happen to have a spare. I was saving it for a rainy day but hey, sounds like you need it worse that I do. PM me your address and I'll get it shipped. I'm out of town right now but should be home on Friday and will get it shipped no later than Saturday.
