BigD Posted June 23, 2008 #1 Posted June 23, 2008 I'm going to up grade the stock headlight bulb with a new Silverstar bulb. My question is when I reach the bulb in the back of the headlight, does it just pull out or do you have to give it a twist? Does it help to wear plastic gloves when handling the bulb? Thanks, BigD
RedRider Posted June 23, 2008 #2 Posted June 23, 2008 Twist the whole housing (that holds the bulb) CCW 90 degrees. It will then come right out. Do not touch the bulb at all. You shouldn't have any difficulty installing it without touching. Good luck. RR
BigD Posted June 23, 2008 Author #3 Posted June 23, 2008 Thanks RedRider, Sounds easy enough. Thanks for the help.
RedRider Posted June 23, 2008 #4 Posted June 23, 2008 I will advise, if your hands are big, put your bike up on a lift or get one of those cute kids (grandkids?) in your picture to reach up there. Turn your handle bars all the way to the right and reach up from the bottom of the fairing - by the plug outlet. It is a tight squeeze, but it can be done. Just takes less of a contourtionist if the bike is raise up a bit. Good luck.
