You all have helped up with questios I've had so far and I really appreate it! So here's another.

 

Can 1200 carbs be used in the 1300? The ones I have in this 1300 are so gummed up, I figureit would be easier just to switch them out. 1200's are out there, but the 1300's are hard to find. Any suggestions?

A New set of 4 Cables, OEM price is about $35.00.

 

Get a new set, used off E-Bay would probably be at least $20, just get new one.

 

You have Cruz control, you have 4 sections of cable.

 

The 83 84 bikes that DO NOT have Cruz control, only have 2 cables, and they are longer, will not fit your bike if you have cruz control.

The 83 carbs have a different pickup for the vacuum point. I also hear that the vacuum sensor is different and the TCI is different because of this. Not real sure on the TCI.

The 1200 Carbs are virtually the same as the 1300cc Carbs. They will fit and function, but this could only be temporary fix. The Jetting is different.

You might want to check the carb sizes, I have a suspicion that 1300 carbs are dia 34mm and the early 1200 carbs dia 33mm, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
