Black Owl Posted June 21, 2008 #1 Posted June 21, 2008 an engraving machine? With over 5,000 members, I figure someone has got to have one.
az1103 Posted June 21, 2008 #2 Posted June 21, 2008 I sold mine to a friend some years back. Why do you ask?
Freebird Posted June 21, 2008 #3 Posted June 21, 2008 Yea, and I sold my laser engraver about 4 years ago.
VTirelli Posted June 21, 2008 #4 Posted June 21, 2008 I'm assuming it something more than the hand held engraver that I bought to mark my tools with, I gots one of those.
Black Owl Posted June 21, 2008 Author #5 Posted June 21, 2008 I sold mine to a friend some years back. Why do you ask? Working on some custom side stand plates as prizes for the 2008 Pork in the Pines gathering, and I am thinking about getting them engraved to commemorate the event. Of course, being frugal (read real cheap) and trying to slide this under the radar to keep peace in the family, I am trying to get them engraved at a miminal cost. So, asking here was my first shot...
az1103 Posted June 21, 2008 #6 Posted June 21, 2008 Try calling some local QuickPrint stores, particularly if they have been around for a while. This was a sideline which never took off and these machines are occupying floor space.
skzoid Posted June 22, 2008 #8 Posted June 22, 2008 I run a booth at the Alaska State Fairs where I engrave (stamp) Pet ID tags. It's manual and one letter at a time. How many do you need made by when? What do you want on them? I assume you have the blanks. Email me pics and any other info you might have. subterranea@juno.com
Bvinson Posted June 22, 2008 #9 Posted June 22, 2008 Yes there is a member in Alabama that has a trophy shop. I can’t remember his member name. He did the custom covers for the cassette players on the 2nd gens. From what I recall his real name was Tommy and I think his father owned the shop. I spoke with him one time several years back about running another batch of the door covers.
