Dakota Posted June 20, 2008 #1 Posted June 20, 2008 Anyone ever have to do this to the 1300? What's the process?
Dano Posted June 21, 2008 #2 Posted June 21, 2008 Remove trunk, saddle bags, guard rails,, rear wheel, fender and inner fender. Then remove the sub-frame and pull your tank off. Just watch the hoses and wiring and you'll be fine.
woz111 Posted June 21, 2008 #3 Posted June 21, 2008 I took all the back end of my XVZ1200, just the same as the XVZ1300 and it was easy, like Danob11 says, watch the hoses, air hoses if you have the class as they are difficult to get hold of, or replace if damaged. The back end on my 84 was rotten, so when I took it off I had it sand blasted and powder coated, looks great now:080402gudl_prv:
Venturous Randy Posted June 21, 2008 #5 Posted June 21, 2008 One suggestion; if bike is on center stand, run a wire or cable from center stand to front of engine area so stand can not collapse while you are tugging on things. RandyA
