sdive Posted June 18, 2008 #1 Posted June 18, 2008 I just ordered one and would like to know what a relatively safe rev limit would be to set it at. Ron:scubadive:
Tartan Terror Posted June 18, 2008 #2 Posted June 18, 2008 I have mine at 7200. I think Tops is 7500 or 8000.
Freebird Posted June 18, 2008 #3 Posted June 18, 2008 Yea...mine is set at 7250...maybe 7200. It will go much higher but Dyna doesn't recommend doing so unless you install heavier valve springs. In fact, it may be 7,000 that they actually recommend.
sdive Posted June 18, 2008 Author #4 Posted June 18, 2008 I have mine at 7200. I think Tops is 7500 or 8000. Thanks I don't want to do any damage by setting it too high. Ron

Redneck Posted June 18, 2008 #6 Posted June 18, 2008 I have mine set at 8k it will start to float the valves at 7800. The engine will get flat over 7k so winding it any higher will just slow you down. I have the advance curve set on 5 if you want to run regular gas set the curve at 3 or lower or you will get spark knock.
