So we had to put down our 14 year old Weimaraner this spring. That was tough since they really become part of the family.

I think Ruth has been thinking of getting a puppy and she just sent me these

pictures from a dog breeder in Indianapolis.

Ruth said she wants to get a couple of puppies but is worried that they

will bother our 16 year old cat. I told her that I could eliminate the cat

problem real easy! http://indianamotorcycleforums.com/Smileys/default/evil.gif

Hey! Just trying to be helpful here....:whistling:

They look cute. We have 5 dogs of various breeds, all insiders. I would think they will probably harrass the cat some, but if you get the puppies young enough the cat should be able to train them. Your cat was already used to your other dog too, right? I'd go for it.

Oh they are adorable. So since you can't make up your minds your gonna get all of them? Or just two? Sorry to hear about your loss, I lost two of my dogs last year. One was illness the other snake bite. Still have two left though.

Good luck with the new editions.

We figure on two so they can keep each other company.

From the looks of things, we will not get these puppies,

but we have the contact name of the breeders so if

the cat kicks the bucket we can give them a call.

I'm ready to get these guys now! The stupid cat will

probably live forever.

Yeah, I have a similar problem. My wife came with two cats.......

There are a couple fox running around the neighborhood. Would probably like a nice cat snack. Unfortunately whenever the cats get out:whistling:my wife just lets them back in.

I had a Great Pyrenees. Can't have anything else now. Not real convenient, but there it is. They become part of you. I'm saddened to hear you've lost a member of the family.

Those puppies sure are cute. Good luck with the decisions. Sure hope they make it through the cat's training ok.

Our cat was 10 when we got our first puppy (Old English Bulldog) followed 6 months later by a ShihTzu. Cat wasn't too happy at first but learned to live with them. When he died 5years later, the dogs actually were upset.

I had one of those too! She was a great dog. Loved the winter and was happy as heck lying in the snow bank.

The one on the right in that second picture looks like a talker!!!!

I love Wymies and Blood Hounds but both need too much room run for where I live. So we have a Bassett Hound.

Yeah, had to drag him in when it was ten below. Nowhere as miserable in the summer as you'd think from all that hair. Great dogs indeed.

I've never spent any time around a Weimaraner. Nice looking dogs, though.
