Is it a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower ? When I lived in Texas it was so hot you didn't have to mow that much as to require a V twin mower !!

I'll bet it really cuts though.

Well, there are V-twins, and then there are V-twins. If it is a Moto Guzzi, I might think it was a reasonable decision; if it is a Star, I'd probably consider it reasonable; if it is a Bulovard Cruiser, I possibly would consider is reasonable; if it is a Victory (but NOT a Vision), I'd almost certainly think it is reasonable; but if it is one of those other things ...

Well, it is always a shame to see such proof of the old saying that the mind is the first thing to go! :rotf:

you know what......i still have my mind, i think. the best part is testing my friends here to see how gullible they could be. I did buy the above mentioned, but it is only 800cc's and it stirctly for commuting thru downtown houston....i kept my baby green v4....best ride i have ever owned.:bighug:

Gonna be a lot of that coming up. I think I'll retire and start buying up all the 250-800 old bikes I can find, go thru them and resale. Might be something there with the ones that will do over 40 MPG.

And I thought it was a birthday present you got yesterday that you didn't know how to give back :rotf:

Heck, I ride an Aprilia 125 scooter over here for the city and short trips on the highway. Automatic and about 65 miles to the gallon although it won't go faster than 72 mph, but motorcycles wave at me too :rotf:

In any case, ride it in health and don't forget how to ride your baby green V4.

I really like the looks of the Drifter. Almost got one years back, but the local dealers never had one in stock to even look at and at that time no one made any accesories. Wasn't even a good way to put Saddlebags on it. Still loved the look though. How about some pictures???

Kreg, The Rsv Is Fixed...was On My Way Home From Pasadena And Stop At Another Dealer. He Had This Thing Two Weeks Ago And It Was Still There Saturday. My Wife Told Him We Want It. She Was Ready To Negociate A Few Accesories In To The Deal Till He Told Her The Price. It Went Down $600 In Two Weeks. No Complaints..just Praise - God Is Good. Rode The Venture All Day Saturday And Sunday. Still Enjoy/love It But In Traffic And Downtown Streets, Well Those Bumpy Streets Just Don't Do It Any Good.

your right about $4 a gal. rode to work yesterday 130 mile got 46+ mpg...yammer start buying up those old 500-900cc relics...ther will be a good market for them. Here the dealers a telling tales of 24hr turnarounds on pre-owned bikes..can't get enough of them.

MY VR is still my first love, but my wife's Honda Shadow Tour is a sweet ride, and at highway speeds, just crusing, the engine is smooth as silk, actually less vibration than my V4.

I love the better protection on the VR though, so while I will borrow her twin for some rides, I will always come back to the Royale.

But I do start to understand the attraction of the big V-twin power pulses as something to enjoy from time to time.
