KiteSquid Posted June 14, 2008 #27 Posted June 14, 2008 How bout this, the reversed peace sign, palm facing your face. In some countries that is a VERY rude gesture!!!!!!!!!
Condor Posted June 14, 2008 #28 Posted June 14, 2008 I don't wave anymore...... no one waves back.. Too many scoots on the road since fuel hit $4 bucks a gallon. Maybe we should have a secret non-wave. Let 'm try and figure that one out...
Dragonslayer Posted June 14, 2008 #29 Posted June 14, 2008 I would be carefull with that one... Brits interpret that as "up yours twice":rotf: Oppps, Sorry I must not be up on my Brit signage.
Dragonslayer Posted June 14, 2008 #30 Posted June 14, 2008 In some countries that is a VERY rude gesture!!!!!!!!! Was not aware of this either. Sorry to any of you foriegners that were offended by my suggestion.
Yama Mama Posted June 14, 2008 #31 Posted June 14, 2008 The flag I believe was made by Eddie, but I think you should ask Don if we can still get them. Mama
Riderduke Posted June 14, 2008 #32 Posted June 14, 2008 Heck Gene I'm already short now you want me to have pointy ears too. Oh to help this along, Jeff said put your hand in the shape of holding an ice cream cone and lick the air. That would work with this bunch. It's not only a way to say hi, but it definitely represents the love of food (more specifically ice cream). Margaret With pointy ears you would have to move into a tree and start making cookies.:rotf: But you could still make me pies:thumbsup2:
mraf Posted June 14, 2008 #33 Posted June 14, 2008 how about we all wear pink chaps This thread has some strange suggestions but I had to do a double take on this one!:rotfl: Hoping you were being sarcastic, if not, you first.:rotfl:
Guest Ken8143 Posted June 14, 2008 #34 Posted June 14, 2008 I vote we make the "live long and prosper" sign the official VR wave. do I hear a second, anybody?

86er Posted June 14, 2008 #37 Posted June 14, 2008 How bout this, the reversed peace sign, palm facing your face. Heck, I thought Churchill started that with the whole cigar thing?!? (And that's different than the Clinton cigar thing!) The mind meld is gonna be tough when passing someone going in the opposite direction, but I am willing to try it if you are! Goose I want to watch you and Beer do that one! Maybe this is what you said or meant: raise your hand, split the fingers between the middle and ring finger (some may have to practice a little). You now have a V with two (cylinders, forward and back) on reach side. I like that idea, Carl, but with the thumb held in to the palm so it isn't Live Long And Prosper!
BEER30 Posted June 15, 2008 #38 Posted June 15, 2008 What happened to channel 29 on the CB ? Breaker , Breaker 29 .....Meet me at the DQ ! BEER30
Guest cwil2988 Posted June 15, 2008 #39 Posted June 15, 2008 Isn't that Spock's "live long & prosper" sign!! Mork calling orkin, come in orkin....:rotf::rotf: but hey, I kinda like that split 4 thing!
RoadKill Posted June 15, 2008 #40 Posted June 15, 2008 I was reading all the suggestions and think this would be good, but how you have your fingers positoned would most definetly be hard to see. Maybe we should consider WHERE we wave. Most of the time I see riders wave out to the side and down. Our wave needs to be straight UP above our heads. Rarely, if ever have I seen that kind of wave. So that's my idea, what do you think? huh? what do you think? do you like it? huh? do you like it?
gibvel Posted June 15, 2008 #41 Posted June 15, 2008 How about a clutch hand salute. Just a casual thing not the elbow at 45º thing or anything.
Brake Pad Posted June 15, 2008 #42 Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) I'm going out of the box on this one. First and formost safty is key. I'm for keeping your hands on the handle bars, and let the bike do the talking for you. The flag is nice, but you have to look for it, and figure riding at 70+ miles pre hour (highways), your not going to see it. The only thing that sits high enough, is your anntena I'm going to do same investigation, and apply some answers Edited June 15, 2008 by Brake Pad

Yama Mama, answer is best, the flag. But may be a brighter color, as to make it more noticeable, like Forest Green with Gold lettering:confused24: I'd buy Two, one for the bike & One for the Trailer

Steve S Posted June 15, 2008 #46 Posted June 15, 2008 I've got it. How about a flag made out of... ... PINK CHAPS:rotfl: :stirthepot::stirthepot:

gibvel Posted June 16, 2008 #49 Posted June 16, 2008 My Goldwinger friend told me that where he came from waving with your hand low meant there is a cop ahead, like truckers flash thier lights. Had anyone else heard that? The reason I do the low wave is because it keeps your hand inside the stream of air so your arm doesn't get, violently, jerked out of the socket.
chollahan Posted June 16, 2008 Author #50 Posted June 16, 2008 I like the "live long..." wave with the thumb tucked. Distinct and simple. I like the idea of a flag too. That would be good for parking lot checks!
