tex_waco_usmc Posted March 27 #1 Posted March 27 2008 Royal Star Venture (12k miles on odo). Bike is somewhat new to me and sat for 10 years in a garage. I’ve been fixing all the issues on it. Got it running and have the mechanical issues mostly worked out. As the title states the controller on my left handle bar is not coming on when I hit the key. Is there something I’m missing? Or is there a way to troubleshoot it? Can’t seem to find anything online about it. I also have a xm radio that doesn’t appear to have a power cable. So if anyone knows where I can purchase one of those and where to power it from would be great help as well.

RDawson Posted March 27 #4 Posted March 27 The “audio” button is also the power button for the system. If it’s been turned off or battery unhooked hit it to turn on. Not trying to be funny but sometimes the obvious escapes us, wait til the kill switch on the bars gets you like it has the rest of us. 1

But you live and you learn! This is my first RSV so I’m learning as I go.

We’ve all done similar, except me of course. 🙄🙄🙄 Let us know if it works, if so it’s more info to keep filed away in or heads, if not somebody here will find the answer. Edited March 28 by RDawson

I went through checking things and wasn’t getting power, I found a 10A fuse listed as backup on the left side rear fuse block that was blown. Replaced it and hit the audio button and now she has power! Front speakers aren’t working so I’ll figure that out, but the rear ones are working just fine! 1
tex_waco_usmc Posted March 30 Author #8 Posted March 30 Front speakers repaired! Took front fairing off and found a rats nest with multiple wires chewed. Both Front speakers, hazard relay, front turn signal wires and the 3.5mm Jack coming off the back of the cassette deck… I’ll make a new post about that issue but other than that I have all electronics that are getting power functioning properly again.
RDawson Posted March 30 #9 Posted March 30 While you have it apart you can plug a 3.5mm Y splitter at the cassette and plug in a Bluetooth receiver to stream music from your phone.
