luvmy40 Posted Sunday at 09:06 PM #1 Posted Sunday at 09:06 PM Hi, my name is Rich and I am a knife addict. And a motorcycle addict. And a coffee addict. And a micro brew addict. OK, lets just say I have an addictive personality. While I am, undeniably addicted to all of the above, my downfall is that I cannot afford to fuel all of those addictions as I would like to. I have always wanted a Wicked Edge sharpening system (as well as a Yamaha R1, a Slayer V3 espresso machine, and a lifetime supply of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA). But that was way out of my price range. Then Work Sharp came out with the Precision Adjust sharpening system at $120.00ish, which is like a Lansky +. I held out on it because it got some mixed reviews. Then they brought out the Professional Precision Adjust system, which is the Precision Adjust on steroids. At $250.00+/-, it was still above my spending limit. I just found one, open box but unused at a "bin" store in Memphis for $80.00. After sharpening all of my working knives with it, I'd have to say it's probably worth the $250.00 price tag. Or close to it any way. YMMV
RDawson Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM #2 Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM I’m not familiar with that model but I have a Work Sharp MK2 that I keep the knives razor sharp. Good products. I also have a Yamaha Venture MK2 so maybe I’m addicted to 2nd editions.
luvmy40 Posted Sunday at 09:41 PM Author #3 Posted Sunday at 09:41 PM I also have the WS Mk2(and Mk1) without the tool sharpening kit. It does do a great job quickly on most edges. I like it very much, but the ProPrecAdust is just head and shoulders above it for a hair splitting edge. The MK2 is probably the better choice for longer blades, but for pocket knives and shorter fixed blades, the ProPrecAdjust is quick and easy. 1
Freebird Posted 6 hours ago #4 Posted 6 hours ago I am a knife lover also. Don't have a lot, just a small collection. My tastes are probably different than most thought. I don't like all the new survival type knifes. My preference is primarily 3 blade whittlers or some call them Congress patterns. I really like the older German made models with stag handles. I have a very few stag handled 3 blade whittlers and my favorite is the Fight ''n Rooster. I have 3 or 4 of them as well as a Hen and Rooster and a couple of Bulldogs. Most are stag but also a couple of smooth bone. They are getting harder and harder to find. I look on Ebay daily for the specific ones that I like but seldom find them.
