ReinyRooster Posted March 17 #1 Posted March 17 I was lucky enough to be the recipient of a centre-stand for my 2009 RSV thanks to be very generous member here, but with my various recent surgeries have been unable to get around to trying to attach it. Getting down to the group is difficult enough but getting back up is the hard part. Anybody nearby that would be able to assist with that project once the weather stabilizes? Hopefully in a week or two? Got a new battery and looking forward to getting a few rides in this year. Thanks.
sleepy2 Posted March 17 #3 Posted March 17 Wednesday or Friday seem to be good weather days!!(rainy Thurs by web sight) Tomorrow have to be here to grocery shop with wife! Otherwise could use truck if I have to!
Marcarl Posted March 18 #4 Posted March 18 Gonna be tied up this week, but it looks like help is on the way. Enjoy guys!
luvmy40 Posted March 18 #5 Posted March 18 RR, please take notes and pics of the process. I have a center stand to install on my '06 and have been putting it off 'cause I'm not sure what all is involved.
ReinyRooster Posted March 18 Author #6 Posted March 18 Sleepy....looking at the weather forecast and thinking maybe next week as it warms up? I will take pics.
sleepy2 Posted March 18 #7 Posted March 18 What ever time is convenient, should be OK! Just need a little heads up!
ReinyRooster Posted March 18 Author #8 Posted March 18 OK, I'll get back to you Monday once I see the weather forecast. Thanks
ReinyRooster Posted March 18 Author #9 Posted March 18 Dropped in a new battery and she fired up pretty quick! That puts a smile on my face. Now we just need the weather to participate. With two Titanium knees, I'm not much for riding in the cold. 1
ReinyRooster Posted March 24 Author #11 Posted March 24 Well the sad news is with my bike having a lowering kit and with my limitations in lifting this heavy sucker of a bike, I have a 2nd Gen center stand to give away. I also have a 1st gen center stand to give away. Will post in the "Paying it forward" section.
sleepy2 Posted March 25 #12 Posted March 25 Sorry we couldn't get the center stand to work since your bike had lowering links! Was a good visit anyways! Good to see you and Don again ! Looking forward to going on some rides even if just getting together for coffee and a cruise!
sleepy2 Posted March 25 #13 Posted March 25 Also got to do some shopping while there! Went to Kitchener Surplus and Princess Auto for a few things! Got into Woodstock after nephew called me for ride and saw that gas at stations was$1.56 at most but where I usually go to was $1.40 so stopped and filled up! Got back into truck turned key and NOTHING! All dash lights were on like normal but starter wouldn't click! Went across to business across the road to see if I could roll truck into his lot so I could call wife to see if I could try a boost and he offered to boost me. He brought his vehicle over but wouldn't turn over! Took his vehicle back and proceeded to push me over to his property. Was so busy that we got cut off a few times before we got my truck into his lot. Tried everything but ended up calling mechanic but he was closing before I could get it towed to his shop. After an hour tow truck showed up and took truck to shop. Waiting today to see what was problem(hopefully not expensive. Said he would try first thing this morning.Hopefully only a relay! Just my luck! So much for getting cheap gas, also didn't get my points or my extra discount!
ReinyRooster Posted March 25 Author #14 Posted March 25 Wow, not a good ending to the day! Hope it isn't too expensive to fix.
