N3FOL Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 I remember a few years ago, Texas had a deep freeze and this caused a number of residents freezing up their water pipes and busting them in the process. This created a lot of water damage to a number of homeowners in the region. I think some houses in Texas are not even built for winter weather conditions with temperatures below the freezing mark. This cold air jet stream is really dipping into the deep south.

Our Sprinkler system back flow valve cracked, pool pump cracked, and our tankless water heater (which was in the attic) cracked inside the unit. I did most of the repairs myself and still spent close to 3,000 to fix it all. Luckily a neighbor saw the sprinkler break and turn off our water or it would have been a lot worse. 1
N3FOL Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 Good mid morning to all. Not planning a whole lot to do today, but if we hit 33°F this afternoon, I just might wash the truck and car to wash away salt and grime.
N3FOL Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Happy Saturday to all! The weather is looking to be more promising for next week. After all the rain yesterday here in SE Pa., Monday and Tuesday may be 'at least' ride days to and from work. Thank you Mother Winter for giving us a break from this brutal cold air.
N3FOL Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Good evening to all! Hope you guys enjoy the Year of the Snake.
Chaharly Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Cold again here in Nebraska. Was near 60 on Sunday, it's now 11F with a -3 windchill factor. The bike is safely tucked away. 1

I am not so thrilled, because I have to be in Philly on Thursday.
bpate4home Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Back to normal for this time of the year in Houston. Actually, expecting potential record highs in the low 80's. Rode to the office Monday and Tuesday. 2
N3FOL Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Good evening to all! I just had to plug in my bike on the trickle charger. February is not looking good in terms of weather.
N3FOL Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Good evening to all! Our next week's weather forecast is looking much better. Looking forward to ride. 1
N3FOL Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 TGIF. Good morning to all! Looking forward to wash my truck this weekend.
N3FOL Posted Monday at 10:28 AM Author Posted Monday at 10:28 AM Good morning to all and happy Monday. I was able to wash the truck yesterday after a month and a half of winter weather grime. Today is about 50 degrees, so it just might be a ride day today. Have a great week. 1
Chaharly Posted Monday at 06:51 PM Posted Monday at 06:51 PM Hope you get your ride in today! It jumped up to the 60s here in Omaha today, so of course I rode my bike to work! That sun sure felt good! 1

It jumped up to the 60s here in Omaha today, so of course I rode my bike to work! That sun sure felt good! Hello. Unfortunately, I was not able to ride today. Here is the story...Sunday, I got the chance to wipe down the bike and check tire pressure but as soon I tried to start the bike...just a click. I removed the battery Monday hoping it could just be a bad battery that I bought 4 months ago, but it tested just fine. It had 380 Cold Cranking Amps left according to the store's battery tester. After all that, reinstalled the battery and just getting a clicking sound. Now I have an Error 12 on my display. After searching for more answers online, I came to my own conclusion it could be the Crankshaft position sensor. If this is the case, I may have to call a tow truck and have the bike towed to the dealer for further investigation. Does anyone have this same problem in the past?

This is the Star Venture you're having problems with?

You could try jumping the starter relay and see if it started, I read somewhere that that code can come up when the bike has been attempted to start too many times?
N3FOL Posted Wednesday at 12:42 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 12:42 AM @Chaharly Yes. The 2018 SVTC. All of my electronics work, but it does have an error code. I also posted my issue in the technical issue forum for further discussion. Did not get the chance to read the service manual today, so I will try again tomorrow if I am some spare time. FWIW, it really sounds like a simple problem but a little annoying that I could not ride the bike.
