Just bought a 2011 RSV Hannigan trike; upper part of CB antenna missing. Anyone know where I can get the top piece? Barring that I'd really like to change it to a Firestik II or other antenna; can find no info on antenna, mount, or how Hannigan mounted it.

That's a beautiful bike congratulations as far as the antenna I would look up a local CB shop, they may have a bunch laying in a corner somewhere.

It should unscrew at the base. I’ll look at the set I have off a junk bike tomorrow but I seem to remember them being pretty rusty.

Somebody told me it is proprietary setup; something about 6 or 8mm. I seem to remember Firestik is 8 mm. Mount is pretty as is and I don't want to screw it up but I do need a working antenna. Gonna look at it tomorrow.

Hard to see in pic, the antenna lines up with your shelf track. Do you just need the section that attaches with Allen screws? I have one but haven’t tried to take it apart.

I just need the top part, above the winding, that attaches(and tunes) with the 2 Allen screws. No longer many CB shops around to ask about those antenna pieces. Truckstops carry Wilson centerload antennas in the CB racks; I hate to buy a whole antenna just to use the top part (without being sure it would even fit), unless the mount also fit and I could just change the whole antenna. Still haven't looked at it; took wife out to dinner on it instead. Waiting for my boy to ship me the intercoms I gave him when I sold him my last Venture; he doesn't like them, isn't using them and now I need them back...

I do just need the top section. (Or a complete antenna...) If you would like to part with either, we should talk....

Thx. No local CB shops anywhere near; last one closed just after Radio Shack bit the dust. Only one I know of presently is on the gulf coast. They seem to have gone underground... Just the standard Wilson wall in truckstops any more.

Shoot me a messsage as a reminder next week. We should be back home around 10/4 (see what I did there 😁). We’re in Florida fending off the hurricanes from our daughter’s house.

Found an antenna part that fits housing; now I just need to tune it. Suggestions on how to attach the meter are appreciated; not sure how much I have to disassemble to get to the coax connections...

Normal procedure is to disconnect cable from cb and connect to swr meter and short jumper from meter to CB. Take the bike somewhere away from structures to avoid any signal reflection and adjust your antenna length to get your lowest but equal swr reading on both lowest and highest channel. Alternatively if you have a preferred channel that you use most often like 28 for example, adjust to lowest reading on that channel and just check that 1 and 40 are still within the acceptable range.

Thank you. Is CB connection under trunk or near radio in fairing? (Thinking under the trunk.) Thinking this will be a pain either way. Will tuning work if I just hit transmit button without mic connected? (My boy hasn't sent me back the headsets yet...)

Will adjust just fine without mic.
