Precious Posted July 28 Share #1 Posted July 28 OK, so a couple of people said I should be running 87. So could the higher octane fuel I've been using be the cause of by decel backfiring?

Motorcycle Mike Posted July 29 Share #3 Posted July 29 You get zero benefits running higher than 87. And I seriously doubt obtane would anything to do with decel backfiring.
bpate4home Posted July 30 Share #4 Posted July 30 I've run 87 in all of my bikes. Never had any back firing issues accept on my Gen 2. Higher Octane did not resolve that. Had the carbs cleaned and checked, problem resolved.
