Hurricane Beryl

Recommended Posts

One of the things I do for our Firm is tracking and preparing our offices for anything that might impact us. Below is what I sent to upper management about Beryl and its impact on the Houston area.

Beryl is about to make landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula as a strong CAT 2 storm. It will weaken substantially over land enter the Gulf as a Tropical storm where it will slowly strengthen to a CAT 1 storm. The converged tracks have moved north to Brownsville TX with US landfall early Monday. The forecast cone still has Houston (nearly all of the TX coast) in the cone of possibility. The European model has moved slightly south with a landfall near Lake Jackson TX as a CAT 2 storm with the track right over downtown Houston. The American model has moved north with landfall near Corpus Christi as a CAT 1 storm with the path west of Houston closer to San Antonio. In either of these scenarios Houston could see 6+ inches of rain.

The last time I heard about Beryl is that he is headed toward Mexico as a Cat 2 hurricane.  My prayers go out to all those that are affected by this terrible hurricane.
