CLEON Posted May 23 Share #1 Posted May 23 Hi all 2004 midnight royal 25000km. radio cuts in and out at random. don't think it is the volume rheostat. anyone else had this issue? The unit on the handle bar is that the actual radio or is the main unit elsewhere on the bike?
RDawson Posted May 23 Share #2 Posted May 23 It’s a wired remote. The main radio unit is inside the front fairing. If you open the fairing there is a bundle of large plugs on the right side, make sure all are clean and plugged in securely. That’s where most audio problems are, clean em and apply a little dielectric grease.
RDawson Posted May 24 Share #3 Posted May 24 (edited) Before tearing into it make sure the CB is turned off. It’ll mute the radio if it picks up any signal. Edited May 24 by RDawson
CLEON Posted May 24 Author Share #4 Posted May 24 Great thanks, i will verify CB status and go from there, i wasn't seeing a cb channel pop up so i never considered it. from there i will look at the front connections. At present the situation does not appear to present itself while parked with the radio on. love the english language, same word two different pronunciation's and meanings.
